Host Your Own Royal Princess Tea Party

Updated: Nov 25, 2021

"We love tea parties with friends!"

Here are some steps to help you enjoy the fun and make a magical experience for your little ones to remember. Serenity hosted a Cinderella themed tea party for 10 guest plus their Mommy's and a Fairy God Mother.

Step 1: A Royal Celebration

Pick a date and time of day for your fun play date. Afternoon tea time on the weekend works best. Note: Give yourself a month in advance to allow proper preparation time. Try to limit your tea party to a 2 hour period for planned activities.

Step 2: Who will you be?

Have your daughter pick her princess character to select your decorations and her dress. We choose Cinderella as our theme! There is also the group of Disney Princess decorations found in most dollar stores.

Step 3: "Be Our Guest"

Make your guest list and create your invitation. Include wording like Your Royal Highness, your presence is requested, or calling all royal princess to a royal tea party.

Note: Use Castle for your address location. Include "Please come in your favorite Princess dress", so your guest will know it is a dress up party at the bottom of your invitation. You can make invitations using Microsoft Word Docs and a Cricut Machine or simply buy a premade ready to print template. RSVP 2 weeks prior.

Step 4: Paper, Plastic, or Porcelain

Setting up your table decor depends on the finish of table items to display. We used mismatched paper, plastic, and porcelain to create our place settings. Items to include:

*tea cup & saucer *teapot

*place mat *paper dollies

*mini plates *dessert spoons

Step 5: Menu + Tea + Dessert

Menu: tea sandwiches cut into hearts; ham and cheese or chicken salad

Tea: premade mixture of peach tea, hibiscus tea, or any type of tea

Dessert: mini cupcakes and powered cookies

Step 6: Games

Start with candy necklaces, prep candy and cereal in bowls and place around the table with plastic string precut to 36 inches. Next, have Disney coloring pages, teapot and teacup pages, and castle coloring pages with a box of crayons per seat. Lastly, end your activities with story time, choose 2-3 short Princess books. Set up pillows and dolls for every princess to have a story buddy. We had Daddy get in character with voices to excite our royal crowd.

Step 7: Dress Up Photo Shoot

Picture time, set up props and start the fun. You can hang extra Princess dresses to change into or just leave in the background for part of your decorations. We used a plastic happy birthday backdrop for our photo shoot.

Step 8: "Best Day Ever"

Day of Tea Party! Decorate your table and hang your backdrop the morning of your party. Next, set up your food and dessert table. We did a mini photo shoot of Serenity and got her hair styled like Cinderella. It's almost time to greet your guest and show them to their seat. As your guest arrive greet your group with "Presenting Princess..... from.....

Step 9: Dessert + Cake Time

After all the fun games, pictures, and story time comes the cake. Doll Cakes are a cute touch for tea parties, they are small and desirable to little eyes. Take a group photo of all your guest and the Mommy's that attended. We had a bonus Fairy God Mother!

Step 10: Print those Photos

If your like us we have a ton of photos but can't choose just a few to print. Tell yourself to print your photos and add to your scrapbook. If you don't have a scrapbook lets make one together, that's our Next Blog Topic.

We hope you've enjoyed a little light reading and adventure.
